ANARE Sailo is one of the intermediate boys division athletes’ to look out for in the upcoming Coca-Cola Games.

He was a 100m bronze medallist last year.

The Tavea, Lekutu, Bua native, yesterday won first place for his house, Varani in the intermediate boys 100m final with a time of 11.57 seconds during the Lelean Memorial School inter-house competition at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

Sailo is one of the gold medal prospects for the school and will be gunning for a gold medal in the Triple N Zone.

“Last year I finished in third place in the Coca- Cola Games final. This year I want to go for the first place,” he said at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.

“I want to start my buildup through the Triple N Zone competition so that I know where I can improve when I prepare for the games.

“My father trains me. Since he started training me, I’ve noticed that I have the ability to run and I want to continue running.

“The win is dedicated to all the old scholars of the school who participated in the games last year. I assure them that we will work hard this year,” Sailo said.
