STRENGTH in every area of their performance on the football pitch is what Rewa will keep in mind when they face Lautoka in the Extra Premier League this week.
Rewa captain Kavaia Rawaqa said doing so meant being aggressive in their defensive tactics.
“We need to be strong in every area of the game, especially in scoring and also defending. If we can’t score and defend well, there’s no point in scoring,” Rawaqa said.
“We need to be more aggressive in our defensive tactics individually and as a team.”
The Delta Tigers beat Tailevu Naitasiri 1-0 at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva last Friday and it was where the winner’s young players showed their skills due to the absence of senior players.
“As we always say in training, when you come to the senior team, you are no longer a youth team. You are equally good as other players around you during the training,” he emphasised.
These players may play a vital role in the team’s 2026 BiC Fiji FACT campaign, following the team’s draw into Pool A with Suva, Navua and defending champions Labasa.
The Extra Premier League is the most immediate task at hand for the Tigers and Rawaqa said the fans are the driving force behind their journey.
“To the supporters, we thank you and keep on supporting the team.”
