The Ministry of Education received 28,991 number of complaints in 2024, information provided to parliament reveals.
The education minister Aseri Radrodro was asked to provide data on the number of complaints with a breakdown.
Out of 28,991, the Ministry received 10,599 complaints related to transportation. The Western division area of Lautoka-Nadi-Yasawa received 10,265 transportation complaints.
196 complaints were related to teacher availability while 381 were student related.
The Ministry said 12,154 complaints were classified under “any other complaints.’
“The Ministry will ensure that customer complaints query books are closely monitored across the nine districts,” said Mr Rsadrodro.
“Ministry will establish clear timelines for responding to all queries, with a maximum response time of 5 working days. Follow-up will be conducted to ensure resolution and to gather customer feedback on service quality.”
