Tailevu-Naitasiri continued its winning streak on Sunday after a two-nil victory against Rakiraki in the Digicel Senior Division match at the Penang Sangam High School grounds.

Both the goals were scored in the last 15 minutes of the match and the side remained unbeaten with four wins and a draw in the competition so far and are top of the Viti Levu zone group.

“Playing after six months was a challenge and we need some fine-tuning,” said president Sundeep Roy.

“We had a lot of missed opportunities.”

Rusiate Qio missed a penalty mid-way in the first half and both the sides tussled to get the first goal from there onwards.

“Rakiraki was a formidable side and it’s always an uphill battle to play them.

“The heat also affected the players.”

Solomon Islander Steven Kwaite’e and Viliame Bawai each scored Tailevu Naitasiri’s two goals.

Tavua, Tailevu Naitasiri, Northland Tailevu, Rakiraki, Lami and Nasinu are in the Viti Levu zone of the senior division competition.
