A premier business forum

BEHIND every successful major event are organisers and sponsors who dedicate much effort and resources towards ensuring everything runs smoothly.

The two-day CPA Australia Fiji Branch Congress 2017 took months of planning and support from several sponsors.

The annual event was part of a series of congresses organised by CPA Australia across a number of regions in Asia Pacific. Gold sponsors Vodafone Fiji Ltd in partnership with Westpac are traditional supporters since 2009. The two leading organisations dedicated a total of $70,000 into what is now recognised as a premier business forum in Fiji.

Vodafone Fiji chief executive officer Pradeep Lal said the forum was a critical step to forge a path forward and address the market’s unprecedented issues — and provided tangible skills, insights and practical ideas.

“The deliberations amongst the bigger minds bring out the opportunities to benefit from strategies aimed at building business agility and resilience to changing market trends,” he said.

“Participants will get to learn innovative techniques and problem solving tactics to enhance their organisation’s competitive advantage”

Mr Lal said supporting the congress was also a part of Vodafone’s responsible corporate business, with their strong belief in engaging with partners and giving back to the community.

“Our support in empowering CPA is to bring together world-class speakers and become part of a learning and knowledge sharing forum without having our people to travel abroad,” he said.

“Vodafone is a proud enabler of a key discussion platform for the everyday business in terms of CPA education also ensures a positive ripple effect to the business communities,” he said.

Westpac Fiji general manager Brett Hooker said they encouraged discussions on plans for investment and business sustainable solutions for many Fijians.

“The 2017 CPA Australia-Fiji Congress was a huge success and over the years, we have seen the congress excel at delivering events that inspire and invigorate and this year was no different,” Mr Hooker said.

“The speakers were outstanding and gave everyone an opportunity to be challenged and hear about new insights into the trends and issues shaping our lives.”

Asco Motors chief executive officer Craig Sims said they were proud to be the silver sponsor for this year’s event.

“The theme of “connecting the biggest minds” is apt, and the topics to be presented from some well-known speakers will assist Fiji’s biggest minds to think further outside of the square,” he said.

“Asco Motors understands the importance of connecting with our customers and looking to see how we can continually change to provide better service and products to our customers and though provoking conferences such as CPA congress, assists greatly in this.

“Asco Motors looks forward to the 2018 congress and some more world-class speakers.”

Mr Sims added that the congress was a well-executed event with some world-class speakers covering themes of resilience, courage and taking a strategic look at yourself and your business.

Bronze sponsors Datec Fiji Ltd general manager Ateen Kumar said the congress provided them with opportunities to benefit from strategies aimed at building business agility and resilience to changing market trends.

“It helped Datec learn innovative techniques and problem solving tactics to enhance our organisation’s competitive advantage,” Mr Kumar said.

Other sponsors include Pacific Energy, Coca-Cola Amatil (Fiji) Ltd, Credit Corporation Fiji, Law Hill Wines, Fiji Rice, Fiji Coffee, Basic Industries, British American Tobacco, Dulux Paints and Shangri-La’s Fijian Resort and Spa.
