In just over two months since its grand opening, Pacific Haven Bistro has quickly established itself as a must-visit dining destination in Nausori near the new Nausori Plaza.

Managed by 26-year-old Marika Senilagakali on behalf of his high school friend and now overseas-based business owner Nacanieli Rakotuinasigana, the eatery offers a unique menu focused on pork and fish, sourced from trusted local suppliers.

“We’ve already seen a remarkable response from the community,” Mr Senilagakali said.

“People are coming in to try our menu and we’re thrilled to see so many returning customers eager to explore new dishes.”

A key factor is its carefully curated menu.

The two men and their team decided to focus on pork and fish to provide a distinctive offer that complements existing local restaurants.

“We wanted to ensure we weren’t stepping on any toes, so we chose dishes that aren’t heavily featured elsewhere,” Mr Senilagakali said.

“Our pork products come from Vuda in the west, directly into our pork shop and our fish is sourced fresh from the market across the road.”

The decision to specialise in the dishes has resonated well with customers, many of whom have expressed a strong preference for its offerings.

“We also have a smoothie bar that serves customers organic smoothies which is very much health conscious.

“And I’m shocked by the number of people who come in asking for them,” Mr Senilagakali said.

The menu not only helps differentiate Pacific Haven Bistro from competitors but also allows for a menu that is both appealing and sustainable.

At the bistro’s engine room is a talented chef who brings years of experience and a passion for cooking.

“The chef is one of my relatives and is the person behind all the mouth-watering meals on the menu,” he said.

She is a retired chef who is eager to help when she heard about the new establishment, he said.

Her expertise is instrumental in the initial success and help attract customers since they opened some two months ago.

Mr Senilagakali has since noted fresh new faces every day eager to try the dishes.

“Every day, someone new comes in, and that’s not bad for a start,” he said.

The bistro operates from Monday to Friday at 6am to 5pm, making it an accessible option for breakfast and lunch.

It doesn’t open on weekends.

Mr Senilagakali and Pacific Haven owner, Mr Rakotuinasigana, have cultivated a partnership that combines local knowledge with international business acumen.

This collaboration has proven beneficial, enabling them to navigate the challenges of running a new business.

Reflecting on his journey, Mr Senilagakali also shared his background in customer service, emphasising the lessons learnt along the way.

“I face my share of challenges and doubts about my abilities,” he said.

“But this venture has been a labour of love, and seeing our customers enjoy their meals makes it all worthwhile.”

As Pacific Haven Bistro continues to flourish, Mr Senilagakali remains committed to fostering a welcoming environment and serving exceptional dishes.

They have plans to expand their menu, engage more with the community and ensure that they are known dedication to quality and customer satisfaction.

As more people discover this hidden gem, it is clear that Mr Senilagakali and Mr Rakotuinasigana’s vision and hard work are paying off, making the bistro a beloved addition to the local dining scene in Nausori.
