RATU Kinijoji Vosailagi has been appointed the new paramount chief of the Nadroga and Navosa Province replacing the late Na Kalevu Ratu Sakiusa Makutu.
Confirming the new appointment, representative of the Tokatoka o Nakuruvarua, Ratu Aisea Wakanimolikula Volavola said a decision was made after families from the Makutu, Volavola and Vosailagi agreed on Ratu Kinijoji’s appointment.
He said 88-year-old, Ratu Kinijoji would be officially installed at a church service on Friday.
“All of the official traditional ceremonies will be done at the traditional chiefly home of Naqeledamu in Cuvu,” he said.
“The whole province has been informed and we will be carrying out all of what needs to be done on Friday.”
He said Ratu Kinijoji was the son of former Na Kalevu Ratu Timoci Vosailagi, whose successor was the late Ratu Tevita Makutu, the father of Ratu Sakiusa.
Ratu Sakiusa passed away in 2013 leaving the position vacant for about two years.
