Water tanks for dry weather

AS persistent dry conditions continue to affect parts of the Western Division, authorities have advised farmers to take up sustainable practices to save water.

And one of the companies hoping to help farmers conserve water is Rotomould (Fiji) Ltd.

The Lautoka company specialises in manufacturing polyethylene tanks.

Its products were displayed during the West Agriculture Show in Tavua.

According to sales and marketing manager Aaron Singh, the company also produces tank fittings and gauges.

“As we are experiencing dry weather, these systems will be ideal for farmers as well as households across the country,” he said.

“The tanks are of Australian standard and we also conduct a lot of product development and research to assist people at the grassroots level.”

He said water tanks could become valuable assets for farmers but they needed to be well-informed about the products.

“If they purchase tanks costing thousands of dollars and it doesn’t work, the money is wasted.”
