FIJI’S renowned international golfer Vijay Singh now has a drink named after him called the “VJ Sling”, created locally as part of the hype for this year’s Fiji International golf tournament.
The signature cocktail –VJ Sling – was launched by leading beverage company Paradise Beverages to celebrate the former world golf number one who has on for a fifth straight appearance at the Fiji International presented by Fiji Airways next month.
The VJ Sling blends Ratu Signature Rum liquer and Bati Spiced Rum, with the sing of ginger and fresh lime complementing the complexity of charred oak and rich vanilla and coconut flavours from the rum.
According to Paradise Beverages general manager of marketing and new product development Roweena Taito, the company has been sponsoring golf in Fiji for over 20 years.
“The Fiji International is a great platform to showcase our fantastic brands to the world,” Ms Taito said.
“The VJ Sling is the perfect way for golf fans to enjoy our world class premium rum range, while beer lovers can also enjoy Fiji’s favourite Fiji Gold, which we are proud to say is this year’s official beer.”
Fiji International director of commercial Matt Porm said the new drink was another fantastic example of the tournament partners working together to create a unique, year round activation.

The VJ Sling, along with the full range of Rum Co of Fiji rums and liqueurs, will be served throughout the tournament week at the Fiji International which tees off at the InterContinental Fiji Gold Resort in Natadola next month.
