Update: 11:47AM THE Governor of Port Moresby’s National Capital District (NCD) Powes Parkop said in a press conference on Thursday he would be happy to replace the phone of the Fijian athlete who was robbed recently.
The Governor was responding to
comments from journalists about the safety of the officials, athletes and
spectators during the games.
Parkop said there would always
be people with the wrong intentions at such events
He said he sympathised with the athlete and would happily replace the phone.
It is believed the phone belonged a
basketball player who returned home with some of Fiji contingent on Wednesday.
