Seven people are in police custody following a series of coordinated raids carried out across the Central and Southern Divisions on Tuesday, 23rd September.
The operations were led by the Fiji Police Force’s Serious Organised Crime & Intelligence Department (SOCID), supported by the Fiji Detector Dog Unit (FDDU), Police Mobile Force (PMF), and the Fiji Immigration Department.
Among those arrested is a Fijian national and six foreign nationals.
The raids were conducted at properties in Flagstaff and Rewa Street, where white substances were discovered and later confirmed to be methamphetamine, following forensic analysis by the Fiji Police Forensics Science Services.
In addition to the illicit drugs, officers also seized significant amounts of both local and foreign currencies believed to be proceeds of criminal activity.
The suspects are currently being questioned as investigations continue.
Authorities have confirmed that investigations are also underway in relation to similar operations carried out in the Western Division, with further details expected to be released in due course.
