Countries around the world have an icon or something unique that brings a lot of tourists to them eg. Eiffel Tower of Paris, Tower Bridge of London, Opera House in Sydney, Great Wall of China, The statue of Liberty of US and many.
What can Fiji have to attract more tourists in millions. We have to spend money to make money.
We might have the sun, sand and its people but it is everywhere in the world today.
Our resorts might be in the unique location but there are unique places also such as Iceland, in the forest of South America and the mountains of Europe.
What can we put together so tourists could visit at anytime of the year? How much money could be spent of such a massive landmark?
Lots of features are ruled out such zoos as we don’t have unique creatures as others do have, we don’t have historical sites as Egypt has or landmark that commemorates historical events.
We have the sea which could be turned into an underwater world or underwater resorts or village.
Our forest could be converted into an Eco City with its own unique features such as tree houses, exotic river pools and its unique Eco restaurants .
Build massive long bridges maybe from Suva City to Lami Town or Nadi to Lautoka or Vanualevu to Taveuni. The bridges are huge enough for ships to maneuvre under them.
For sports we could have International Sevens Academy with its training facilities, academic buildings, its accommodation, sevens museum and a 50,000 capacity stadium to host international tournament such as Test matches, Super Rugby, World Cup events, Seven Series, NRL and Test crickets.
We will not only rake in tourists, but money, employment and business to our communities.
