A man in his 20s is currently in police custody following the alleged killing of his 86-year-old grandfather in Navokadamu Settlement, Lutu, Wainibuka.
Police said the incident took place in the early hours of July 12, 2025.
The suspect is accused of attacking his grandfather with a cane knife, inflicting serious wounds that led to the elderly man’s death.
The incident was reported to the Vunidawa Police Station.
Police are continuing their inquiries.
