Airline inks deal

A MARKETING support agreement has been signed between Fiji Airways and Wellington International Airport.

Through the agreement, the two companies will work together in raising awareness of the soon to be launched direct Wellington to Fiji flights next month.

At the official signing in Nadi, the two parties expressed excitement at the prospects of the new partnership.

Fiji Airways chief strategic officer Aubrey Swift said this was an important milestone for the company.

“What this agreement means is that Fiji Airways and Wellington airport will work together to promote Fiji, both within Wellington and further abroad in other parts of our network like the United States,” Mr Swift said.

“That means combining our resources, which means our money and our two teams working together collaboratively to come up with new ideas and innovative ways to try and sell our product.”

He said the airline was grateful to Wellington airport for their support.

Wellington International Airport CEO Steven Sanderson said the airport would also benefit from the partnership.

“Not only is this great connections between Fiji and Wellington, it also offers onward flights to Los Angeles which will be of great interest to business and political people because it is the capital of our country,” he said.

“We do see a lot of benefits to come out of this partnership.”
