TAVUA received an economic boost this month with the opening of the refurbished Al-Hamd Smart Living Store.

Managing director Ashfaaq Khan said the new store is the 10th outlet they’ve opened around the country.

“Our goal is really to bring a supply of furniture, office supplies and smart living appliances that caters for our modern market,” Mr Khan said.

“We are a local business that believes in employing our people and elevating our business environment to a level that we can compete with the best in the industry.

“We are very grateful to have opened this new outlet and hope to bring some more economic activities to Tavua.”

Mr Khan said the new outlet offers the same services as their other branches.

“We also have an expanding team.

“For this branch we brought in a very good team and one of our priorities is to put them on insurance.

“At the moment 50 per cent of our staff are on an insurance policy.”

Tavua district spokesperson Ratu Ovini Bokini commended the owners for committing to providing a new business feature to their town.

“I think it is timely that we allow investors to come into Tavua and set up their business.

“I am very grateful to Mr Khan and to the Al Hamd Smart Living team for deciding to not only set up their store here but also refurbish the building they are in and bring a modern look to our town.

“We hope to see more growth in the town and see more economic activities for our people.”
