The Scotland Rugby team wasted no time as they jumped straight into their first training session at Albert Park in Suva yesterday, ahead of their upcoming Test match against the FIJI Water Flying Fijians on Saturday.

Jamie Richie, a forward for the team, expressed his excitement for the match and the warm welcome they received from the Fiji Army upon their arrival.

Richie acknowledged the Fijians’ skill and physicality in playing running rugby, noting the presence of talented players like Viliame Mata, whom he has played with before.

“We know the Fijians like playing running rugby they are extremely skillful and can be really physical as well,” said Richie.

“I played with Viliame Mata for a long time, so I know what he can bring, we know they are some really good players, and we will be expecting a hard game.”

Having caught glimpses of the Fiji-Australia game while traveling to Fiji, Richie and the team are aware of the quality of rugby of the Fijians.

“We managed to watch few parts of the game Fiji and Australia because we were at the airport travelling, a close game and it was a good game to watch.”

Scotland is riding on the high of their historic win in New Zealand last week, stunning the Maori All Blacks 29-26 and the team will be looking to maintain its winning form.

The two teams will clash on Saturday, 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
