THE founder of Healing Hands Foundation Mohenesh Singh says people should be charged with common nuisance for playing loud music.
The foundation released a statement after a resident of the Nacava area of Valemasima in Votualevu raised concerns about people drinking overnight, making noise and disturbing the community.
Mr Singh said people could party at their residence for as long as they like, but they must be mindful of annoying or disturbing anyone through loud, excessive noise.
He also urged people to be considerate of others, especially the children and the elderly.
“Family members are working and such behaviour disturbs them,” he said in the statement.
Mr Singh requested Police Commissioner Rusiate Tudravu to provide more effective community awareness in the area and to develop strong crime prevention communities.
“We all need a peaceful environment,” he said.
