The Boxing Commission of Fiji (BCF) has taken a significant step forward by introducing a competition Record Book, commonly referred to as the “Blue Book”, for professional boxers in the country.
Adi Narayan, chairman of BCF, announced on Tuesday that the book which is published in Australia, will contain the competition and medical records of every boxer.
Boxers who are members of the BCF will be required to possess a Blue Book.
The book is a standard tool used by amateur and professional boxers globally, and its introduction in Fiji is seen as a crucial development.
“Without the Book, boxers will not be allowed to participate in any of our events from now on,” he said
He also sent a reminder to both boxers and trainers to ensure that their licenses are up to date.
