$224K salary, perks and power: CoI report reveals FICAC Commissioner’s full benefits package

The salary of the Fiji Independent Commission against Corruption Commissioner is $224,000 per annum.

This is revealed in the Commission of Inquiry report released yesterday.

The Commissioner also gets a mobile phone for personal and official use.

The CoI report states the FICAC Commissioner gets an official vehicle and driver for official and personal use and business class travel for international official travel,

The Commissioner has 21 days annual leave per annum which must be compensated if not utilised.

“Conflict of Interest — During the term of employment, not to be engaged in any business or occupation part-time or otherwise, other than as a full-time employee of FICAC,” states the CoI report.

“Shall be responsible to ensure that none of her immediate family members are engaged in any activity, which would be in conflict with the responsibility or any of FICAC’s policy.”

“Reporting, as per Section 115 (9) of the Constitution, by providing regular updates and advice to the Attorney-General and also pursuant to section 5 (3) of the Fiji Independent Commission Against Corruption Act 2007, shall provide regular updates, reports and advice to the Judicial Services Commission [JSC] on any matter relating to its functions and responsibilities, in consultation with the Attorney-General.”
