Sixteen bure that are under construction at Vunimono High School in Nausori will serve as multifunctional learning and gathering spaces.
The groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of these bure was held on Tuesday last week.
School principal Bijen Singh said the groundbreaking of the $160,000 project marked more than just the beginning of a construction work.
“It symbolises our school’s vision of creating inclusive, culturally enriched spaces for our students, where learning is not confined to classrooms but nurtured through community, tradition and identity,” Mr Singh said.
“The planned bure will serve as multifunctional learning and gathering spaces, promoting cultural education, unity, and a sense of belonging for all our students.
“It is our commitment to provide holistic education, where modern learning co-exists with the wisdom and values of our traditions.”
