Police have launched an investigation into how a man entered the residence of the Prime Minister on Saturday.
Commissioner of Police Rusiate Tudravu confirmed the incident.
“The suspect was arrested and is in police custody,” he said.
“The suspect was initially turned away by officers at the main gate as he had no prior appointment or clearance.”
“He was later arrested when he had gained entry from the back of the compound and I have directed an investigation into the breach.”
The suspect is believed to be in his thirties and is from Tailevu.
The Prime Minister wasn’t home at the time of the incident.
