Those named or implicated in the Commission of Inquiry report must step down, said opposition member of Parliament, Premila Kumar.
She said these individuals are entrusted with upholding the rule of law.
“The public has every right to ask, is the law only enforced for the weak, while the powerful hide behind their titles,” asked Mrs Kumar.
“Those named or implicated in the COI report must step down — not tomorrow, not next week, but now to allow investigations without interference.”
“Only then can we begin to restore credibility to the legal system and rebuild public trust.”
“If justice is to mean anything, it must start with accountability at the top.”
