113 families in Cuvu, Sigatoka receive their lease titles yesterday with the message “today you are informal no more.”
Minister for Lands and Mineral Resources, Filimoni Vosarogo and Minister for Housing and Local Government, Maciu Nalumisa officiated the event.
“We’re not just giving out papers—we’re delivering dignity, security, and the promise of a better future,” said Mr Vosarogo.
“For too long this place has been called the Cuvu Informal Settlement, today, you are informal no more.”
“Let today remind us that when government, communities and partners work together—we turn dreams into deeds. We build a stronger Fiji, one family, one community at a time.”
With the lease titles, families can now access to home financing and government housing grants, start small businesses and secure legacy for their children.
“This land is not just earth beneath your feet. It is your foundation, your legacy, and your pathway to prosperity.”
