Chennai Bulls rugby team have been proving their dominance in the Rugby Premier League sevens competition in India, with their impressive performance in the 26-all tie against the Kalinga Black Tigers.

The match, which showcased Fiji’s sevens player Filipe Sauturaga scoring a significant try, marked the fourth day of intense competition.

Maintaining their strong form at the Mumbai stadium, the Chennai Bulls displayed unwavering determination.

Despite facing a formidable lineup of World Rugby 7s stars from the Kalinga Black Tigers, such as Rosko Specman, Lucas Lacamp, Perry Baker, Harry McNulty, and Maurice Longbottom, the Chennai Bulls stood their ground.

Joseva Talacolo emerged as a crucial player for Chennai, consistently creating opportunities and supporting his teammates in scoring tries.

Captain Alex Davis credited the team’s successful performance, with three wins and one draw, to the strong understanding amongst the players.

Reflecting on their recent victories, Davis mentioned we feel happy for the three wins, not initially knowing what to expect.

“We’re just focusing on the connections we made in the last couple of days in Chennai and it has paid off well for us.”

In another fixture, Waisea Nacuqu and Jerry Tuwai’s Mumbai Dreamers faced a setback with a 20-7 loss against Delhi Redz.

Chennai Bulls will enjoy a break today before their next match, while the Kalinga Black Tigers gear up to take on Hyderabad Heroes today.
