The inaugural Women in Media (WiM) conference wrapped up yesterday in Suva with a strong call for regional collaboration, inclusive partnerships, and sustainable funding support for women-led media initiatives.
Day two opened with a powerful discussion on strengthening ties with civil society, moderated by CFL journalist Rashika Kumar. Panellists from femLINK Pacific, Balance of Power, Fiji Disability Forum and The Asia Foundation highlighted the importance of inclusive storytelling and grassroots advocacy.
Regional voices took centre stage in a session on building cross-border alliances, featuring media leaders from the Solomon Islands, PNG, Tonga and Australia.
The day ended with a plenary on resilience led by Rosi Doviverata and Ricardo Morris, before Deputy PM Manoa Kamikamica delivered the closing address.
