THE National 2025-2026 Budget will be a ‘people’s budget’, says Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation Viliame Gavoka.
Speaking to the media at Castaway Island last Friday, Mr Gavoka emphasised that it was not always easy to transition into a new administration after a 16-year reign of the FijiFirst Government.
“We had our cabinet subcommittee meeting two days ago,” he said.
“There will be a lot of social programs, strengthening what there is and also there is quite a lot on infrastructure developments.
“So, it is going to be a very good budget.
“One that addresses what we need right now and given the hindsight of the last two years in government.
“It is not always easy to move into a new administration after 16 years of another type of leadership.
“So, people have been patient with us, and I think this budget will deliver most of the stuff that we promised the people of Fiji.”
