Sugar Minister Charan Jeath Singh has criticised Opposition MP Jone Usamate for attacking the Government on its handling of the Commission of Inquiry (COI) report.
The COI report was on the appointment of Barbara Malimali as FICAC Commissioner. Ms Malimali has subsequently been sacked following the inquiry.
Mr Singh told those present at the New Farmers and Lease Premium Assistance Program launch in Lautoka, Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka was in control of “things”.
“Mr Usamate complaining about the COI report, it has happened and this has happened,” he said.
“The report is there, let the Prime Minister and President decide.
“Who are these people jumping on the bandwagon?
“So, I’ll make it very clear, this government is in control and the Prime Minister is in control.”
