An unwavering commitment to the game is how Roy Krishna’s resilience was described by his club Odisha FC, following the announcement of his departure from it yesterday.
Krishna’s stint with the Indian Super League club has come to an end, the club announced in a statement released yesterday.
“Thank you for everything, Roy. You will always be a Kalinga Warrior. We wish you all the very best in your next chapter,” the club stated.
“Even when injuries to hold you back, your commitment never wavered.
“You showed up early, focused and full of heart in every training session.”
The national striker joined Odisha at the end of the 2023-2024 season of the Indian Super League.
He helped the team secure a fourth-place finish, reached the semi-finals scored 13 goals and made three assists in that season.
Moving onto the 2024-25 season, it was one marred with difficulty for the Labasa-born player.
A ligament injury he suffered in a match against Hyderabad FC last November had set him to the sidelines for the rest of the season.
The club also acknowledged the qualities he possessed and how it made a difference in various ways.
