A 1-0 VICTORY by Dayals Sawmillers Ba FC over Blue Gas Navua FC in their final Group A match yesterday was not enough for either side to qualify for the semi-finals of the 2025 BiC Fiji FACT.

Both teams had an early exit from the competition, due to either draws, losses or not enough points to book their ticket through into the crucial matches later this week.

For Ba, a goal by Faazil Faizul Ali in the 30th minute allowed them to make a deposit into the winning account.

Navua, though losing to the men in black, may have been tired according to its head coach Saiyad Ali.

“This became the most crucial match for us, we needed a win to qualify,” Ali said.

“Unfortunately, like when I look back at my team, I think they (were) really tired.

“It was very evident in the first half, because the transition from the defence to the attack was too slow like when we had the ball in the attacking third, most of our players were still in our half.”

Meanwhile, due to Ba’s win over Navua, the Ajay Trading Rewa FC team qualified for the semi-finals later this week along with Pacific Seafood Supplies Lautoka FC.

Both teams had met earlier yesterday, and Lautoka handed Rewa a 1-0 defeat thanks to a goal by Saula Waqa in the 27th minute.
