I ask that the people to show their disgust at this decision, said Unity Fiji leader Savenaca Narube on the decision made by the Prime Minister that he will not release the report of the Commission of Inquiry into the appointment of the FICAC Commissioner.
Mr Narube alleges the Prime Minister “is obviously protecting some people or even himself.”
“This appears to be a cover up of mammoth proportions by the two highest offices in the land,” he said.
“I believe that our leaders should be held to the highest moral and ethical standards, ensuring that public trust is not only gained but preserved.”
“This raises the serious question whether the PM should be trusted to uphold the values of integrity, truth, honesty and transparency.”
Mr Narube added the nation should not take “this decision lying down.”
“It has serious ramifications on the future of Fiji. It will embed different accountability standards for those in power and for the ordinary people.”
“This decision must be challenged at all fronts. We must take a stand here!”
“I ask that the people show their disgust at this decision at every opportunity.”
