THE Peoples Alliance Party (PAP) recorded an operating loss of $143,492 in the financial year ending December 31, 2024, its latest accounts filed with the Fijian Elections Office reveals.
The accounts are dated March 28 and signed off by party leader Sitiveni Rabuka and party secretary Sila Balawa.
The party recorded income to the value of $356,129 and expenses at $499,621.
In the highest income for the year, the party received $325,000 as a government grant and $18,237 in donations.
All donations in 2024 were received in Fiji.
The Peoples Alliance party used $214,412 for secretariat support allowances, $46,008 as salary for the party general secretary, $44,000 on rent, $27,862 on travelling and accommodation and $10,000 as legal fees.
The records show PAP has two bank accounts with Bank of South Pacific (BSP) – one holding $55,106 and another — $6718.
The audited accounts show the party has $103,718 worth of assets.
Key party executives listed in the financial accounts are acting party president Ratu Josefa Dimuri, senior vice president Isoa Gavidi, vice president Baljeet Kundan Singh Haer, party leader Sitiveni Rabuka, general secretary Sila Balawa and national treasurer Joseva Leano (deceased in May 2024).
