Energy Fiji Limited (EFL) will de-energise a few powerlines next week and restrict traffic movement for the safe carting of oversized generating sets from the Kings Wharf in Walu Bay to the station in Kinoya next week.

“EFL hereby advises the general public that its appointed contractors will be transporting two 10MW generating sets from King’s Wharf in Suva to the EFL Kinoya Depot in Nasinu. One Generator Set will be transported each day – on Monday, 26th May 2025, and Tuesday, 27th May 2025, between 3am and 7am,” EFL’s chief executive Fatiaki Gibson said.

“These generators are classified as heavy and oversized cargo. Specialized heavy-haulage transport equipment has been engaged for the safe and secure movement of the units.

“As a result, there will be restricted traffic movement along the designated transportation route during these hours. Members of the public, particularly motorists, are kindly requested to plan their travel accordingly and consider alternative routes. The Fiji Police Force will be assisting with traffic management during the operation.”

Transportation Route: Departure from King’s Wharf North Gate (Exit Gate) at approximately 3am, Harris Road → Edinburgh Drive, left turn onto Princess Road (approx. 5.84 km), right turn onto Khalsa Road (approx. 3.31 km downhill), left turn onto Kings Road (approx. 1 km uphill), right turn onto Yasiyasi Road (approx. 0.9 km downhill), right turn onto Ratu Dovi Road (approx. 1.43 km), left turn into the EFL Kinoya Depot main entrance

Temporary Power Outages:. Affected areas may experience temporary power outages, including: sections of Reservoir Road, Princess Road (up to Australian Embassy), and surrounding areas, Mead Road to Tamavua Village, including Wairua Road and Deoji Road, Nayavuloulou Settlement, Tacirua, Khalsa Road and connecting streets (e.g., Duna Circle, Vo Place, Balabala Crescent, Vota Road), Kinoya Road (Velau Drive to Kinoya Traffic Lights), Kings Road (Kinoya Traffic Lights to Valelevu Roundabout), Valelevu roundabout to the junction of Nawanawa Road, including Mako Place
