More CCTV cameras will be installed between the Suva-Nausori corridor, thanks to a partnership between Telecom Fiji and the Fiji Police Force.

Under the Safe City Project, Telecom Fiji will deliver high-speed fibre connectivity and CCTV infrastructure to Fiji Police.

All video feeds will be terminated and monitored at the Fiji Police Command Centre located at the Central Police Station (CPS) in Suva.

“This milestone project is more than just technology—it’s about creating safer communities for all Fijians,” said Telecom Fiji Chief Executive Officer, Charles Goundar.

“We are proud to partner with the Fiji Police Force in delivering a solution that not only improves public safety but also lays the groundwork for smarter cities in the future.”

Commissioner of Police, Rusiate Tudravu said this is a critical development in modern policing, aligned with the organisational intent of maximizing the use of technology.

“With real-time monitoring and broader coverage, we will be better equipped to respond to incidents, deter criminal activity, and keep our people safe.”

“Our partnership with Telecom Fiji reflects our commitment to using innovation for the protection of our citizens.”
