SMILES, laughter, and heartfelt moments filled the air as WOWS Kids Fiji celebrated their second special family fun day of the year with twenty children battling cancer at the resource centre in Rewa St, Suva yesterday.
The centre’s operational manager, Mere Lutuciri-Williams, said the celebration served not only as a day of joy but also as a vital part of the children’s healing journey which also included Tower Insurance employees as volunteers.
“These activities are always very important, it’s part of their rehabilitation, recreation activities that’s good for themselves,” Ms Lutuciri-Williams said.
“Wherever they are, the transportation, or the medication, whatever is not in the hospital, we cover that for our children and the families.
“So today, we brought in the parents so I’m glad to see the parents who are here, in which we were able to have a session and update them on how things are going.”
One of the key updates shared with families was the organisation’s ongoing strategic planning efforts, aimed at improving and expanding services.
“We’re doing our strategic planning for WOWS Kids Fiji, and that directly impacts the services we offer these children,” she said.
“It was important to include the families in that conversation.
“These focused programs ensure that every child receives the type of support they need when they need it the most.”
