Assistant Minister for Health and Medical Services Penioni Ravunawa has confirmed the Kamikamica Health Centre will be partially closed off temporarily to undergo renovation works.
Lautoka residents had raised their concerns via social media regarding the deteriorated state of the waiting area.
“I believe the ministry is planning to temporarily close part of the Kamikamica Health Centre in order to do some major renovation work,” he said.
“We will start off with the minor ones that are urgent and critical for the safety of patients that use that facility.”
Mr Ravunawa said necessary relocations would be done to accommodate the new arrangement.
“In the meantime, there will be some relocation of clinical care within the premises while the maintenance team is coming to work on the Kamikamica Health Centre.”
