THE Engadine Dragons Pacific Development clinic and gala will be hosted in Lautoka on June 7.
Their first major event took place in March, bringing together Fijian Under-10 rugby league players from across the country. The clinic, which ran from 8am to 12pm, was organised by the Engadine Dragons Junior Rugby League Football Club as part of their Fiji Tour 2025.
Its main objective was to unite U10 rugby league clubs in preparation for the upcoming inaugural competition later in the year.
During the clinic, the Australian-based Engadine Dragons U10 squad trained and played alongside their Fijian counterparts, sharing skills and fostering friendship through sport.
This historic engagement marked the beginning of the first-ever U10 rugby league competition in Fiji, making it a significant milestone for local rugby development.
Building on this momentum the gala day next month will be Fiji’s first-ever U10 gala day, dedicated to developing the grassroots of Fijian Rugby League.
The event promises to be packed with exciting rugby league matches, vibrant community spirit, and a showcase of future Fijian stars.
The gala day is a collaborative effort involving key stakeholders including the Engadine Dragons, Mua-i-ra Rugby League, Fiji National Rugby League (FNRL), and Vuvale Pacific Development.
Both events aim to spark long-term development of junior rugby league in Fiji, offering young athletes exposure, experience, and opportunities to shine on a larger stage.
