Murder investigations have commenced against two men in Savusavu who had previously been arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
This follows the death of the 86-year-old victim.
“The two men earlier charged and produced in court for an alleged Aggravated Robbery case in Savusavu last month, are now being investigated for alleged murder,” said Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mesake Waqa.
The two are alleged to have forcefully entered the home of an 86-year-old retired businessman of Nagigi, Savusavu and assaulted him.
They stole assorted items.
“The victim unfortunately later passed away on the 27th of April 2025.”
“As investigators now pursue the element of murder, the Fiji Police Force will ensure the thorough conduct of investigation so that justice prevails.”
