HIGHSEAS murder accused Tevita Qaqa Kapawale appeared this morning for his closing submissions.
Mr Kapawale appeared before High Court judge Justice Dane Tuiqereqere and has been remanded in custody.
Mr Kapawale, a father of three, faces five counts of murder and a count each of attempted murder and criminal intimidation.
He is alleged to have murdered five crew members, three of whom were Indonesian nationals and two Fijians in 2021.
He is also alleged to have attempted to murder and criminally intimidate two local nationals.
Lawyers Eoghn Samisoni and Triveshni Sharma from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions appeared for the state.
While Legal Aid Commission lawyers Tobia Ravuniwa and Etonia Veibataki appeared for Mr Kapawale.
He will appear for Judgement next month.
