Resort’s $12m makeover to create space and fusion

AWARD-WINNING South Pacific Resort, Nanuku Resort in Pacific Harbor, Deuba, has officially unveiled its $12 million makeover, transforming the luxury resorts accommodation and public spaces with contemporary elegance.

In a statement, the redesigned resort aims to preserve its authentic Fijian character through a comprehensive renovation, which includes refreshed interiors across all guest rooms.

“These upgrades coincide with the resort’s 10th anniversary celebrations, further solidifying Nanuku’s position as one of the South Pacific’s premier luxury destinations,” it stated.

Resort general manager Tomasi Turukawa said they were proud to unveil their completed redesign, which he said perfectly balanced modern luxury with their authentic Fijian heritage.

“The renovation reflects our ongoing commitment to elevating the guest experience while maintaining the warm Fijian hospitality that has always been at the heart of Nanuku,” Mr Turukawa said.

“Our guests can now enjoy family-friendly spaces and dedicated adults-only areas, ensuring everyone finds their perfect island sanctuary with us,” Mr Turukawa said.

Parisa O’Connell, principal designer of Parisa O’Connell Studio, the artistry partner behind the makeover, said their vision was to create spaces that would feel both timeless and fresh.

“Now that the project is complete, we’re delighted to see how the balanced design maintains the authentic Fijian essence that makes Nanuku special, while introducing stylish elements that enhances comfort and luxury,” Ms O’Connell said.

“The finished spaces truly capture the natural tropical beauty of Fiji with our minimalist palette enriched by intricate Fijian cultural influences.”

Key elements of the redesign amplify the sense of calm and relaxation and draw attention to the island’s lush surroundings.
