Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka is taking an official visit to Singapore and Indonesia this week.
Government has not stated the duration of his absence from Fiji.
Mr Rabuka’s visits are at the invitation of the Singaporean and Indonesian governments.
While in Singapore, he will meet Prime Minister Lawrence Wong to discuss strengthening economic ties between the two countries and.
In Indonesia, PM Rabuka will meet with the President, Mr Prabowo Subianto.
PM Rabuka is also expected to engage in a series of official side events as part of the visits.
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Viliame Gavoka will be acting Prime Minister while Mr Rabuka is away.
