WITH a shortage of senior referees in Ba, reinforcements have been coming in from Lautoka, Nadi, Ra and Vatukoula to help with the high number of club matches each Saturday at Vinod Patel Park.
Referee Co-ordinator Malcolm Blake has been busy engaging with his colleagues in neighbouring unions to ensure the best standards are met.
“Ba Club Rugby now has 18 matches each Saturday, so we are very grateful for the assistance from these referees. Ba has some very promising junior referees but at the moment we don’t have enough senior referees to handle the volume of games.”
