New champs at schools tourney

NEW winners are set to ascend to the podium in the under-15 and 17 categories of the Fiji Secondary Schools Rugby League Vodafone Trophy competition.

This as holders Ba Methodist Saints in the U15 and Queen Victoria School in the U17 have failed to reach the national semi-finals this weekend.

Naitasiri Secondary School Warriors however, is still in the running to defend its U19 title.

Looking at the semi-final fixtures this weekend, in the U15 grade, Marist Brothers High School Storm will battle Lautoka Central College Storm in the first match at 9.15am.

This will be followed by the second semi-final match between Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School Dragons and Sigatoka Methodist High School Storm at 10.15am.

The U17 semis will begin at 11.15am which sees Marist Storm facing Sigatoka Valley Cowboys while Nasinu Secondary School Panthers battles Ba Pro Dragons at 12.25pm.

Naitasiri Warriors will take on Ra Roosters in the first U19 semis at 1.35pm and Ratu Kadavulevu School Eels meets Ba Pro Dragons in the last fixture at 2.55pm.

There are no QVS and Suva Grammar School teams in the semi-finals this year.

All matches will be held on Saturday at Garvey Park in Tavua.
