A postmortem examination was carried out by police on the second Xavier College student who died from an illness last week.
Police spokesperson Ana Naisoro said the second death was referred to police from the Ministry of Health following the student’s death.
“The reason the case was with police was for a postmortem examination to be conducted on the deceased,” she said.
“The postmortem was conducted and a cause of death confirmed and ruled out any foul play as the victim died as a result of an illness.”
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Health and Medical Services ruled out the student’s death was caused by dengue fever.
