SHAKEEL Pillay showcased his class at the AA SPARES (Fiji) Ltd Fiji Amateur Championship 2025, securing victory with a total score of eight under par over 54 holes.

“I want to thank my dad for supporting me throughout my golf career and also my uncle, Dinesh Chand, in Japan. He helped me a lot last year when I went there for three weeks. I stayed with him, and he coached me,” Pillay said.
Despite his strong performance, he admitted that the tournament was not without challenges.
“My biggest challenge over the two days was keeping my holes together. I had a few bad holes, but I had to remind myself to stay composed and keep moving forward.”
In the Men’s Net division, Sarvesh Devan claimed the top prize, while Subhash Chand (215), Joeli D (216), and Rajesh Prasad (216) finished in the top three for the net category.
