Free eye checks at Island Medical Centre from today

Island Medical Centre located on Extension Street, opposite the CWM Hospital main entrance will start offering free eye screening for adults and children from today.

Managing Director of the Centre, Azad Ali said the free eye screening offer is for needy people.

“A person’s eyes are just as important as the heart or any other organ in the body, thus the free eye screening offer from us,” he said.

‘People would not have to pay the normal $50 consultation fee and the eye screening fees as part of our offer.”

“But if they require treatment for their eyes after the free screening , then we will give referrals to our specialist and conditions would apply for the provision of treatment.’

The free screening will include retina check, reflection test and cataracts check.

We have the Optical Coherence Tomography (OCT) machine too, which is a non-invasive imaging technique used in eye care.

“No one will be turned back by our team, everyone coming to the medical centre will have their eyes screened free of any costs.’
