A REPORT on the 4.1 tonnes of incinerated methamphetamine will be presented by the Director of Public Prosecutions as part of its submissions for a pre-trial hearing of former national squash athlete Justin Ho and nine other people.
Facing charges related to the alleged importation and possession of the meth are Mr Ho, David Heritage, Louie Frank Logaivau, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu, Sakiusa Tuva, Jale Aukerea, Ratu Osea Levula, Cathy Tuirabe, Viliame Colowliku and Keanie Lilo Mcpherson.
Appearing before Justice Aruna Aluthge recently, DPP lawyer Joeli Nasa said the report would be part of the final list of evidence they intended to submit at the trial scheduled next month.
Mr Nasa said the State was also awaiting voir dire disclosures from two of the accused, Sakiusa Tuva and Cathy Tuirabe.
He said once the disclosures were received, the State would then be in a position to provide its final disclosures and a detailed list of evidence along with the prosecution’s witness list.
Louie Logaivau’s lawyer Mark Anthony requested for the pre-trial hearing be conducted next week to allow each of the defence lawyers time to make submissions during the voir dire proceedings.
Mr Anthony said the pretrial hearing needed to be done soon because they were five weeks from the trial date of April 21.
The matter has been adjourned to April 7.
