Fiji National Provident Fund has revealed a company director had generated a fake FNPF compliance letter to bid for a government tender.

FNPF has stated this in a public information document titled “fraud prevention.”

“Dasun Designs Ltd (name changed) generated falsified FNPF compliance letters to bid for a government tender. During the bidding verification process, it was found that the compliance letter was fake with the query from the relevant Ministry flagging the doctored reference number,” states FNPF.

“The company’s director is facing criminal charges pursuant to the Crimes Act.”

FNPF states the repercussions of committing fraud are not just financial but also carry criminal liabilities that could result in imprisonment, fines, or both.

“It is essential for individuals to refrain from engaging in any fraudulent activity, as the consequences are far-reaching.”
