Sports officials discuss Fiji’s future

Sports administrators gathered for the National Sporting Organisations Conference, which began at the Harbour Point Convention Centre in Lami yesterday.

Various officials from a wide range of sports were present as they convened to discuss a myriad of elements that contribute to the wider sporting scene in the country.

The event was opened by the Minister for Youth and Sports, Jese Saukuru with the event being divided into sessions where speakers such as Fijian Drua CEO Mark Evans, Fiji National Sports Commission CEO Peter Mazey, FASANOC CEO Vanessa Kilner and 2032 Brisbane Olympics Committee member Atma Maharaj addressed attendees.

Following the conference, the nominees for the 2024 Fiji Sports Awards were announced last night.

The conference concludes today as speakers from sports such as weightlifting, touch rugby, amateur boxing, athletics, rugby, netball, outrigger canoeing, cricket, swimming and football are expected to appear.
