FIJI is no longer just an alternative outsourcing destination.

It is a strategic nearshoring hub for businesses that want to enhance customer engagement while maintaining operational flexibility.

Outsource Fiji president Morika Hunter made the comments as the country’s outsourcing industry took centre stage at the 10-year anniversary of Customer Contact Week Australia and New Zealand that begun at The Star in the Gold Coast, Australia, on Tuesday.

Outsource Fiji and two of its member BPO service providers – Oxygen Outsourcing and Nearshore, are exhibiting at the three-day event to showcase why Fiji had become the go-to nearshoring destination for businesses in Australia and New Zealand.

“As demand for cost-effective, high-quality customer engagement solutions rises, businesses across Australia and New Zealand are looking for reliable, scalable, and culturally aligned outsourcing partners, and Fiji’s outsourcing sector has positioned itself well enough to support the Australia and New Zealand businesses,” Ms Hunter said in a statement issued yesterday.

“Our presence at CCW 2025 is about connecting with businesses that want to elevate their CX (customer experience) strategies with a nearshore partner that truly understands their market.”

She said nearshoring partnerships with Australian and New Zealand businesses helped create sustainable career opportunities while retaining local talent.

By choosing Fiji as a nearshoring destination, she said businesses gained a world-class customer experience partner and contributed to the growth of the industry.

Fiji’s Trade Commissioner to Australia and New Zealand Daniel Stow said: “Fiji’s role as a nearshoring hub offers exciting opportunities for businesses in Australia and New Zealand to tap into a highly skilled and adaptable workforce, just a short flight away.”

“The growing interest in Fiji’s outsourcing sector reflects the strong partnerships we are fostering in the region, helping to create jobs, boost innovation, and enhance the Pacific’s global competitiveness.

“Through these collaborations, we are laying the foundation for sustained economic growth and deeper regional connections.”

CCW is held from March 4-6 and is the region’s largest gathering of customer contact leaders, bringing together 100-plus prominent businesses.
