Australian Federal Police Commissioner in the country

Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police, Reece Kershaw is in the country.

This morning, he met Minister for Policing, Ioane Naivalurua at the Australian High Commission.

A government statement said the meeting solidified the existing relations the Fiji Police Force already has with the Australian Federal Police.

Discussions were focused on police uplift support, AI capabilities, and the construction of a new police headquarters.

“Commissioner Kershaw reaffirmed the AFP’s support to Fiji in the areas that will enhance the Fiji Police Force’s capabilities and has invited officers from the Fiji Police Force to get hands-on experience with their teams in Australia,” said the statement.
